The BALTEEM project

Welcome to the official web pages of the BALTEEM project. BALTEEM ('Palaeoenvironmental and palaeoclimatic evolution of the BALTic Sea basin during the Last Interglacial (EEMian, Mikulino) is a multinational project, funded by the European Union (EU).

The main participating groups are based in Cambridge (UK), Aarhus (Denmark), Helsinki (Finland) and Bergen (Norway). The project is administered from Cambridge by Dr. P.L. Gibbard of the Quaternary Palaeoenvironments Group (QPG). The QPG is based in the R.G. West laboratory, and is part of the Department of Geography, University of Cambridge .
